I haven't been feeling well lately; wasn't sure what was wrong but knew something was. Then it happened, I got the easily recognizable, "I haven't been fishing in 2 months", shakes. My favorite lake close to me is still closed till lowland trout season opens at the end of April; so I decided to try one that I hadn't been to before, Lake Pleasant.

I had been reading the reports of other fisherman having nice catches of Kokanee earlier, in February, and thought I should be able to do the same at Pleasant. What I forgot was, I'm only a mediocre fisherman.

We arrived at Pleasant about 8 am. and noticed the wind was already pretty stiff. Since we were already there and I hadn't been fishing in 2 months we launched anyway. I don't have an outboard so we do all our travelling with the electric trolling motor. it works okay you just don't go very fast or very far. it's also a pain in the wind.

About 45 min into the trolling with "Fish with Gary" dodgers and lures I got a hit and landed a 9 or10 inch Kokanee. I thought "that's not too bad it will probably be a pretty good day". Nope. nothing else for the rest of the trip. We even anchored and tried jigging over what, on the finder, looked like a school of what we were hoping was Kokanee, but to no avail. Eventually our cold feet, lack of success, and the weather report that there might be evening rain showers drove us back to the launch. I apologize for no picture but the wind forced me to keep a hand on the tiller at all times and I didn't think I could get the camera out of my pocket without disaster. We tried several different dodgers and jigs but no love.

I'll try going back to Pleasant when its warmer and a little more pleasant. At least the shakes are gone.
