Fished American Lake today at Harry Todd Park. Got there around 12:20 and fished until 3:30. It was very windy with a bit of rain. I was using yellow and orange power eggs with bloody tuna scent on a 3-4' leader. About 2 hours in I hooked into a nice little rainbow that was probably 13" and right after the guy next to me hooked into a 16" football of a trout. Both fish did not have clipped adipose fins and were very healthy looking. The guy next to me had said he was out there trying to catch dinner for him and his wife so I gave him my fish before he left. I hadn't planned on keeping anything but the little guy swallowed the hook and was bleeding badly so I bonked him. He had another hook stuck in it's mouth with a power egg still on it. All in all it was a chilly windy day on the water but it sure beats going to work.
