After Discussing a few trolling tactics with SalmonBarry I decided to give Angle lake another go in attempts to master trolling without a downrigger. Work got slow so I had plenty of time to fish so I loaded up my pontoon and off I go. I started out just right of the launch as SalmonBarry instructed me to do and hit the 30-45 ft of water. I had on a uv pink wiggle hoochie tipped with gulp maggots. I had 2 really hard strikes but no sticks 10 min into my troll. I was roughly around 28-30 feet down. I made my passes and still no kokanee. As soon as I hit the opposite side of the launch I got myself into some nice rainbow trout. At this point I switched my gear to a red kokabow lure. It was lights out from there hooking about 8 trout but only keeping two. One was 10in and the other was just shy of 13in. All the others were let go to get bigger. Would have been a 5 if I landed a kokanee but that didnt happen soooooo.... I will be patient and learn the ways of SalmonBarry soon enough.! Tight Lines to ya all.

Hey DJ, you will get this lake figured out in no time all. I fish this lake all of the time and have found when the WDFW stock the lake with trout, it starts to wake up the kokanee. In March and April you should scratch out a few kokes and might get your limit a couple times, but May through Aug/September are the hottest months for these fish and limits for all. Good Luck out there!

Thanks Loco! It pretty much comes down to being patient. I was looking at the reports and your right, most of the fish were caught during the late spring/summer months. I look forward to catching my first. Hope I see you out there and Im sure Ill have plenty of questions to ask.

Hitting it in the morning if any of you Angle lake regulars want to educate a koke rook. Plus need to break in my new trolling setup on my toon.

If there are any Kokanee left after Nate posted a add on Craigs List that he is offering guided fishing trips on Angle Lake. This is BS.
