Met with the brilliant fishinChristian to take a whack at I-82 Pond #4/5 for perch and/or crappie. Pretty rough going, at least in terms of the catching. Couple little crappies, two little bass, and that's it (no perch at all). Lots of hard work trying different things, but there was really nothing going on. Perhaps the weather changes were doing it - the solunars were also rotten. Did hit #5 a bit on the way out, but it was even worse - nothing at all. Guess I'll have to wait for it to warm up a bit more....

But it was am absolutely beautiful day to be fishing on the lake, so I'm not complaining. Ponds #4 and 6 were all being hit like a ton of bricks by the planter trout fisherman, so it was a real zoo in the parking lots (and even under the osprey post nest on #4, despite the fact it clearly is posted no trespassing - where were the game wardens?)

Fun afternoon. You didn't mention the 5 trout, though. I wouldn't either, but some folks like 'em. It was you who caught the first bass and crappie though!

Ha! Those were *your* Alpo trout, not mine!

I was there at ponds 4 & 5 for a couple of hours too. I managed a stocker trout on a vibra grub jig and that was it. I don't seem to have much luck for bass until later in the spring/summer.
