I went late yesterday after the rain storm so it was about 6:15 P.M. before ia got out of the truck. With only one pile of glass on the ground I went for the lake! I put on a new jig that i just bought from Jiggy and tossed it out there under a small slip bobber. After a long 15 seconds it went under! I had first thought it was going to be a planter trout, but it turned out to be a nice crappie! I couldn't believe it! So I put it in the stringer and chucked the jig and bobber back out there.......bobber down! a 11" crappie on my 2nd cast! Then, nothing. I cast and cast with no hits. I took a look at the jig and it was just a bit out off of what it should be set at. Then.....fish on! I continued to catch fish with one small move until dark. I also landed a large mouth bass. About a pound. But a lot of fun on a #4 line and an ultra-lite Lamiglas rod. So as soon as i get a chance I will be back out there with a few more of Jiggy's Jigs in my box looking for some more pan fish. THe jig was his "Smokin Joe" Jig. I have been after these crappies for some time now and I am pleased to have found a jig that hooks up! My next venture will to be taking out the younger children in our family and introduce them to fishing. Fish on! HC
