Weather conditions were brutal with heavy winds and monsoon caliber rains but my buddy Ryan and I powered through for what resulted in a pretty good day of musky fishing. Took some time but found the first active musky on a flat casting a spinnerbait, shortly thereafter, another musky came in red hot on a Musky Innovations Bulldawg off a point. Later that same lure had a musky hit but quickly spit the hooks. Tried some other points and finally brought our first musky in the net on a crankbait. A rather small fish and looked to be a planter from the previous year. Eventually moved on and hooked up a much better musky off another point and got it in the Frabill. Sorry, no measurements taken. Hooked another but spit the hooks after a brief battle. Considering the weather conditions, this was a pretty excellent day of fishing. Also talked with a few good folks participating in a bass tournament, one fellow said he caught 6 smallies but unknown method, these anglers also battled the elements. Depending on location, water temps ranged from 58-64F. We had to work for it but a pretty good day of musky fishing considering the weather. Also helps to be fishing with great company and Stanley Cup Playoffs on the radio!

As always, remember the 50 inch minimum rule on muskies, let them go, let them grow.
Have proper tools such as pliers and hook cutters. Sacrifice your hooks, not the fish.
Good luck on the water and enjoy!
