Had a great day on the Upper Lake fishing with my cousin and a good friend. We launched the boat at 0430 and within 5 minutes, it was fish on!! The upper lake was just stocked with 2,500 rainbow fingerlings and boy were they in abundance. We were targeting the Kokanee, but before we could get our lines down to them, the bows had already stripped us of our corn. We were fishing 100' of water and catching Kokanee between 20-60ft. We were using a 4.4" Silver Double D Dodger with a Silver Hot Wing on top of it, and a 1.5" Cha Cha Kokanee Squidder. The hot color of the day: Blue. We had two types of corn: Kokanee or Anise Supper Dippin Sauce. We quickly realized that the Kokanee dippin sauce worked much better than the Anise. The extra attraction in the water with the dodger and the hot wing was just the right thing to attract the kokes. The only reason this day wasn't a 5 is because we wanted to catch Kokanee. If you want to take a kid fishing and consistently catch fish, this is the place to go. Take the time and stop up there. You'll be glad you did.
