Got to the launch and boat in the water at 0500. Lines wet by 0510 and we were fishing. We were using a combo that has gotten us consistent limits on American the last few weeks (50/50 DN dodger, red/gold wedding ring w/real silver or real gold blade) but we didn't hook up with our first fish till 0630. After we started to get it dialed in and changed set-ups a few more times, we were slowly able to pull out our limit, 10 fish total, in about 6 hours. Weather was decent and boat traffic was at a minimum compared with the last 4 or 5 times out. Only gave it a 3 because there was so much time between hook ups. Out of the last 5 trips to American, we were able to limit in less than a couple of hours (I launched at 0600 on Sat. May 17th and was loaded up and headed home with a 2 person limit by 7). Fishing has been absolutely RED HOT for me the last few weeks, but 6 hours for a limit just seemed so SLOW in comparison.

Nice report. Saturday was good. Did you stay in the same area all day?

Relatively same area all day. I usually stay on the north side of silcox. Saw you out there yesterday and you were hitting much of the same water we were. Instead of trolling in the middle there though, I like to hit the contours a bit more around the island. There are a few 90' depressions, sadles and an underwater island in the area that I like to pound and they usually produce.

Hmm, how to explain it. Imagine a horse saddle. A central part (where your butt goes) with higher ridges in front and behind with lower ridges on either side. There is a slight saddle/bay between silcox and the underwater island and another on the north north west side of silcox.
