Took Ty and Kenny out for the morning on Rock Lake. Trolled for browns using the kitchen sink (quickfish, rippin minnow, flatfish, rapala, trolling fly)! Got hits on everything but the bright colored flats seemed to work the best. Did not pick up a single rainbow. Fish were mostly caught at surface level as the lead-core line only picked up one. Water temp about 59F, trolling speeds 1.1-1.5mph.

thanks for the report, was wondering about rock. How was the water clarity? Thinking about going down there and see how the fish are biting on jerkbaits.

The water clarity is still somewhat stained. I only landed one using a jerkbait. I think another week should help with the clarity then the jerks will be more effective.

Water has been staying pretty dirty all spring. Two weeks ago it had a visibility of only 18 inches. A month ago it was 12 inches. The clay is just now sinking out fast this year.

My son was at Bonnie on Saturday and he told me it only had a foot to 18 inches of visibility as well, so we are still getting mud pumped into Rock.

Nevertheless, proper methods will catch the Browns. Two weeks ago I and my son clobbered them, many over 18 inches, some over 20 inches. Still, tough enough we went bass fishing today. LOL
