I'd hoped today was going to be at last "as good" or better than yesterday. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. I met my brother-in-law and nephew's at the launch at 10am. Overcast and cool. We started with a couple different Rapalas and a flatfish. Finally had a hit on the flatfish after about 30 minutes. My nephew didn't quite get it to the boat before it popped off. We continued to get hits here and there, but very seldom and nothing strong. We cycled through a few different presentations before hooking on a red flat fish which drew a strike fairly quickly which resulted in hookup. One of my nephews at least got to catch his first trout. It was an epic event, which made the trip worthwhile, but sadly we couldn't get both the boys on fish. Ended up calling it quits just after 1pm with only the one fish to show for it. Pretty dismal for only being the beginning of June. Still a great time on the water with my family and good times. Maybe the next will be more productive.

Congrats on getting your nephew into his first fish! When the fish do not cooperate it can be hard on kids young and old. LOL
