My best friend of nearing 40 years and I decided to go on a bass tour today and started at lake Wiser. We took the Jon boat and oars only! Rowed one lap around each lake we fished and left, ended up getting 4 small lakes in total!

Fished west of the Guide to start and saw nothing but 3 otters. Fished the east side and hit bass on frogs mainly, Koppers Live Target to be exact for me. Largest was nearly 5lbs and a few in the 2-4lb range. Bass were tight to shore and cover. We tried the outside weed edge but to no avail. The grass is getting thick and with a little more water loss this lake will be tough to fish. We reeled in an extra pound or two of weeds with each fish so don't bring your light tackle!

On a side note: there are lots of large snails floating in this lake.....DO NOT break them open for any reason! Easily the nastiest thing I have ever smelled and it doesn't go away! Smells like a cross between rotten old pond water and sewage! I nearly rolled out of the boat and swam to shore to get away from it LOL

Is the rock pile still under the bridge? Last time out here I wasn't able to make it through to the west side. Nice lookin' largie!

No! Not since I was up there a few weeks ago and destroyed it! It was rocks mixed with old sandbags that I'm sure were "borrowed" from when they were doing construction on the new bridge. I cut them open, dumped out the sand and threw as many rocks out into the lake as I could. I didn't really enjoy wading in that nasty water but people have plenty of shoulder room to walk up and over now, they don't need to dam up a channel like that, it negatively affects more than just boat traffic.

Probably some kids just playing around and didn't understand the result of there actions.
