How's the water flowing in that area? I've never been but i'm curious if a canoe with a trolling motor would be safe enough(at ones own risk of course..) . I'm mostly in lakes so I haven't had enough opportunity to catch smallies and that one looks fun.

6/8/2014 9:15:00 AMCCrud: A single pontoon would be a touch safer, but I've fished it in a kayak, float tube, and pontoon. Mostly depends what section you choose and the weather, of course, but if you're experienced, it's not bad. Check it out on Google maps satelite view, and you'll see what you need to know.

6/9/2014 8:58:00 AMThe closer you get to nine mile the more current you run into but you should have no problem fishing from a canoe. The biggest problem you might run into is all of the idiot water skiers that frequent Long, they do make some pretty nasty wakes at times.
