Fished Grandy in the morning and after a quick burger got to the lake around 11:00. Tried searching for my rod and reel that sunk to the bottom last Saturday. Was fishing with my son and his cast hooked one of my rods and flipped it overboard. We searched for a half hour for it but couldn't locate it. It was straight across the lake from the launch about 50 yard from the other shoreline. Pflueger spinning reel with a Cabelas Tourney Trail split grip rod. Crap!
Back to the report.
Had pretty good luck on the North side the last several weeks so thought I would start there. Spooked several good size fish and saw another about 50ft away surfacing around some pads. Made my way a little closer and tossed a shallow jerk bait where a last saw it and BAM! Fish on... Weighed in at 3lbs 8oz. This was the only fish of the day and the top half of the tail fin was completely gone. Almost looked like a bite was taken out of it.
I attached a pic of a heard of sheep that was was being moved down Beaver Lake road right after I got to the launch. Not something you see every day...
