What a great night! I took my son inlaw to Loon for some kokanee action. He had not fished in at least 30 years; didn't know what he was missing! This is a picture of his first ever kokanee, the grin tells it all.

We fished the usual South end of the of the lake in 32' of water. The fish were a crank and a half off the bottom and they took the usual maggot and shoepeg corn cocktail. Bite started around 9:30 for us. I caught some fish to demonstrate for Chad how to do it (ok, ok call it greedy but I had to catch mine)! I sat down by the tip of Chad's pole and coached him on the gentle bite and fish hooking technique. He is a fast study and soon was catching kokanee with the best of them. He had a little trouble with those squirmy maggots but got the hang of putting them on the hook.

It was an absolutely beautiful evening and we caught our limit of 20 fish by 10:30...that is indeed HOT fishing! The fish are around 11" with some smaller ones thrown in. We moseyed back to the launch enjoying a great boat ride.
