I was able to get out on Silver for a few hours on Saturday morning before the water skiers took over. I started out at first light throwing a buzzbait and was able to interest a couple of dinks but nothing of any size. As the morning wore on I switched over to a tube and picked up a couple more with the largest being about 3 lbs. I also threw a frog over the milfoil but couldn't entice anything to smack it. As I got to deeper water I decided to give a drop shot rig a try and it turned out to be a good decision. I probably caught 8 on the drop shot, 14 total for the morning, by targeting deep water along the west side of the lake. I caught another 3 lber as well as a 2 lb and a few right around 1 lb. I also lost one that would have been between 4 and 5 lbs when she wrapped me around one of the chains securing one of the docks. Not a bad day on Silver and yes Virginia there are still some smallies in Silver as you can see by the dink I caught.
