Fishin' partner Dave Stokes and I tried Lavender Lake for the first time today. Clear water showed weedy bottom, so we did worms under bobber. We both limited on 8-9 in. 'bows in a couple hours. Scrappy fighters all!
Sure the near-constant breeze ruffling the surface helped.
Nice shore access and this year's generous plants make Lavender and nearby Easton Ponds
ideal spots to take kids fishing! However,some words of caution: even with moderately warm temperatures, the bright sun and brisk wind in this area can cause sunburn FAST! Two years ago, on a June day in the 70's, I fished Easton Ponds, shirtless, for just over an hour. The bright sun and wind had a Blowtorch effect, and I suffered mightily for several days. Cover up, and use sunscreen lotions!
