8/3/2014 7:54:00 AMDon't remember last time I pulled an 'all nighter', but can't think of a better way, or better angler/tutor/friend, to share with. To say I had a great time really doesn't cover the experience. Meeting you was a real pleasure, sharing fish stories, actually catching kokanee after dark (what a hoot), and time on the water were all a bonus.
Learning to snap my wrist at what seemed to be nothing more than rod movement from waves or the slightest 'bump' was the trick. For a while, I wondered if I would 'figure it out' as I watched you put one after another in the cooler, but once you schooled me on the technique it was all good! That kokanee I'm holding did his best to keep from being photographed, and squirmed out of my hands twice before Alan was able to get that shot. Third time was the charm. ;-)
Loved the good humor/fun between your boat and your nephew's, lively chatter, and the sunfish bombs. You guys know how to have fun. ;-)
Reality hit me on the way home, I had forgotten about a 7am appointment to pick up new decking, so after pulling in the driveway at 0325, taking the puppy out for a potty break, I crawled into bed for 2hrs of light sleep before having to get up and heading into town. Would I do it again? In a heartbeat! :-D

8/3/2014 8:28:00 AMYou're welcome Phil......guess we should have quit at midnight? Hope you got 40 winks later in the day Saturday. Those kokanee have to be the toughest thing in the world to hang on to when loose in the boat! Kind of like the proverbial greased pig at the county fair.

8/3/2014 8:58:00 PMI don't ever look at the water clarity when I night fish for kokanee in the summer. There is always stuff you can see under the lights and then all of the water creatures show up and have a feeding frenzy. Very cool to watch; the kids really like watching the action under the lights. Me, I like catching kokanee under the lights! DA

8/4/2014 12:52:00 PMbuc - Sorry bout that. Tough to see water clarity in the late evening at the public launch slough. Thought I answered as it pertained to kokanee fishing success. I had not been up there for a couple of weeks so may have missed the bloom.
