After splitting 3 chords of wood all day my 7 year old daughter and I went out in our boat in the late afternoon, around 5pm. We fished the northern corner of the lake where their are no houses. After an hour I caught one average size (about 12 inches). Moments later my daughter suddenly screamed she had one on. She is VERY new to fishing so I told her what to do and watched her fight the fish (thinking it was probably the same size as what I just caught). It jumped a few times but I didn't actually see the fish because I always seemed to be looking somewhere else at the time. We had two anchor lines out, one fwd, one aft due to the wind swinging us around. Once she got it up to the boat the line headed right for the fwd anchor line and went slack before we could do anything. We thought she lost it, I also saw a large trail of weeds wrapped around the weight. Thinking (or not?) their wasn't much line out I decided to hand pull the line in to get the weeds off, that's when the 20 inch, 2 1/2 appeared! All in all a great day of fishing!!!
