Got up early and was on the water just before 0600. Thought I would go for some largemouth action. a little fog early but it burned off quickly but stayed cool till about noon when I was leaving. I was the only boat on the water for the first few hrs which was kinda nice. I tried everything I could think of and only managed to catch one small one. I did miss on two other nice bites but for all my efforts only one fish. I tried flipping in the pads and around the docks and the one fish I caught came on a chatterbait I was running parallel to the pads as I scooted from one spot to another. I located a couple of textbook ledges that dropped from about 16ft to 22ft. I fished those ledges with everything and came up empty. I did notice the water temp had dropped quite a bit, it was down around 72 to start the day. The last time I was out there it was about 82. I went into this day knowing that Tanwax is a bipolar lake and that it can be good one day and the next under the same conditions tough as nails. I guess I got the tough day oh well very peaceful start and glad to be on the water honing my skills.

On another note, I try to have good boating/fishing etiquette when I'm out I give others plenty of space, that said. two other small boats came out. I was back in the pads flipping to a few holes and this guy comes fishing down the shoreline pads toward me. he gets so close he's casting right into the same areas I'm fishing. Is it asking to much for a little distance? I was not moving I was burred in the pads was it to difficult to go around and give me a little cushion. The other day I was at tapps and there were almost no other boats out and this jet ski had to run right past us a few times while were fishing. I guess we were in the only spot to drive a jet ski on that big ol lake. I almost snagged me one of those jet skiers with my jig they were so close. That may have gotten the point across. I don't ask much just a little space.
