Dad and I hit Potholes on Sunday to see if we could find some walleye. Main lake was a little rough when we arrived so we decided to try the Lind Coulee arm. Lots of little worm stealing perch the first couple hours. Wind died down some so we made our way to Perch Point and Medicare beach. Picked up a smallmouth and a 14" walleye on a jointed perch shadrap. Pulled gear and ran to the front of the dunes. I was pulling a purple tiger flicker shad and worm harness, dad was using a Seahawk plug and a beetle spin tipped with a power maggot.
Dad gets a violent strike on the Seahawk, good battle, 2 pound largemouth. I get a keeper perch on the flicker shad and miss a strong bite after getting back in the water.

Then it gets weird, trolling in 5 foot of water, dad gets a 14" walleye on the beetle spin. I continue to miss fish and feed the small perch with the worm harness. Back over the 5 foot shelf and that dang beetle spin catches a 15" walleye. It is starting to get rough again, about 1:30, so we decide to troll over towards Medicare beach. Dad's Seahawk gets hammered again and we bring a 24" walleye to the net. We were in 32 foot of water for that fish. As soon as we get that in the boat I tell pop getting rougher and that is a good fish to quit on. He was so tickled to catch fish on that lure after I told him no way that thing catches a fish. Crow does not taste good, now I have to find another one of those plugs!

If you dont mind me asking, how far back did you run the plugs and at what speed? We were up there this weekend as well, had a bunch a youngsters, so we focused on them and the perch action. Had a really great time and an awsome fish fry sat. night,

Thanks,

Mcfisherson13, we ran roughly 60-70 feet back between 1.5 & 2 miles per hour. The big one was suspended, maybe 15 foot down in 32 foot of water.
