Seeing the recent report by "mercandbrad" reminded me that Deep lake was on my list of lakes to get to. I made o quick check of the regs, and saw that it is only open until the end of the month, so now was the time for me to go. I was planning on going fishing this morning anyways, i just changed my destination to Deep. Boy am i glad i did! i started fishing from about where "1" is painted on the wall, to the "6" with the best area for me, and getting most of my fishing attention, being between 4-5-6 area. a lot of drive by's, a couple long line releases and a couple lost right at the boat, while i wrestled with my net and the ultra light rod. There was a stretch where everything was very frantic with rods going off left and right as fast as i could get them set. I had the lake to myself, only seeing 1 couple in a kayak coming out as i was going in. Yes the boat ramp is very slick! be careful, if stepping in the water on to the ramp. fish were about 11-13" i guess, not huge, but scrappy on the ultra light gear. caught fish from 35-55' down.
