This was our first time fishing Clear lake (thanks Toni for your great reports). What a beautiful lake and view of Mt. Rainier. We got there about 8:00 A.M., and after shooting-the-bull with several locals at the launch we were in the water fishing. We had four in the live well in thirty minutes, but it took us another three hours to get our ten fish limit. The kokanee were all males and starting to get the hook noise, but strong fighter. The kokanee were caught using pink Sling blade and pink splatter dodger with spin-and-glows and small UV/glow hoochies and homemade cured corn. The down riggers were ran at 25-35 feet at a speed of .8 to 1.2 MPH. This was text book kokanee fishing.
