Warm day in the afternoon. Stopped by the 'Evans Pool' area of the lake, lots of passerbys and some people sun tanning on the pier. The lake is currently in experiencing toxic algae warning, this was my first time to this lake. Water visibility was limited by all the algae in the water.

I was shocked and amazed that bass were everywhere under the pier. Every cast, just about every lure in my tackle box was getting hit or chased by bass. I caught at least 10 all fairly small sized bass. Some tourists decided to drop a line in the water, using worms and no rod just fishing line. Caught a nice sized trout.

This lake is abundant with bass and they are striking right now. I did spot a few bigger fish, which I imagine are carp. They were the size of a basketball and darkish in color, circled around the pier for a bit and scurried off.

If your fishing the pier, try either worms or jigs, the bass seem to really be going after them.
