Finally found a lake to just drop my lures in, and catch fish. Virtually all my cast, reeled in something. Either rock bass, smallmouth or largemouth. I went to the lake in the hopes of catching carp but I figured, that I had plenty of time so I tossed around a jig and saw what I'd catch. By the time I switched over to carp, using corn. It had gotten dark and I'd grown rather tired. All-in-all, it's a great lake to just catch fish. Evan's Pool area is most productive but I also tried the south area of the pond.

This is a great lake to take the little kids along and let them catch fish. Found that a chartreuse jig worked best but it seems like they'll bite anything right now, the bass.

Didn't catch anything huge but it was nice and relaxing way to spend an afternoon.

Some random guy came up to me real close(really uncomfortably close, i think he was either homeless or drunk) and asked if I caught trout, I said no, it's bass. As I was releasing it back into the lake, he walked by again and asked if I was going to eat them. I said "no, the lake currently has a toxic algae warning". He said, 'yeah'(again, uncomfortably close). In hindsight, I wondered if it was cause I was Asian, back East and a lot of other places, Asians are notorious for violating catch & release laws, eating whatever they caught... kinda left me befuddled.

Yeah, I'm new to Seattle and Green Lake seemed a bit crowded upon my initial reactions, just cause the parking lots are always packed until a certain time in the afternoon. Unlike the other spots that I've reviewed, this place is a constant stream of foot traffic. Overall it's a great place to fish if your just looking to catch something(anything). That weird guy, just made things slightly uncomfortable but that's how things are when your urban fishing, I suppose. Oddly enough, I never bring buckets or containers for fish so I don't know why he'd assume I was going to keep fish. Back East, it's the Russians and Chinese who are notorious for keeping fish out of size limit or off season. So I guess caution is not unwarranted.

There are a lot of weirdos around Green Lake.

Out here it's the Russians and the "Asians" (all seemingly lumped into one. While I admit many Russians have earned their reputations, I've seen or heard of every ethnicity having their unfair share of poachers, including the ones with sterling reps for being conservationists. Some of the bigger waters over there aren't too bad for crowding, and check out Google for some smaller waters that are kind of hidden. They tend not to get hit so hard. And welcome. We need law-abiding citizens. Wonder if we could trade a few of the less law abiding... Never mind.

I'm not really one to hold a grudge or ponder too much into a situation, more than likely I may have read the situation wrong. It's just sometimes my spidey senses start to tingle when people get too close beyond my comfort zone. All in all, I think Seattle is a great place and people are very friendly. Fishermen amongst the friendliest, Quad was really helpful in suggesting locations, and the comments and replies to reports really help me better understand the best methods to fishing in various locations. The anglers I meet out on the waters have also been super friendly. I've yet to really witness any poaching in the urban environments, in fact I'm really quite surprised at the sear number of residents here that aren't aware of the awesome fishing opportunities afforded to them. Passerbys seemed genuine in their disbelief that there are fish to be caught in Green Lake and the ship canals of Lake Washington.
