Hey Wallmama, we were also out there fishing last weekend. What an awesome weekend. Didn't know that they were having a bass tourney, but the lake was big enough for all of us. We did pretty well ourselves on 16"+ wallies. Caught 5 keepers and approx. 1,000 shakers (lol maybe 2,000). The funny thing is that We've never fished for wallies let alone seen them in person. We were actually trolling wedding rings with worm and were catching them like that. We heard there were some large bows in the lake, although never caught any. We were fishing in the coves north of Steamboat Rock. We tried plugs and such as well and got nothing on them. One curious thing we wanted to find out though. Maybe you or someone else knows. When we were fishing dusk, there were literally hundreds of fish jumping and swimming right on the surface. In groups of 5-10 at a time.. And I mean everywhere!!! They looked like small mouth, but we cast, trolled everything we had through them and nothing hit. Are they carp? We wish we could have taken pics, but we forgot our camera and charger for our phones. But, it would be nice to find out because they were everywhere on the surface like like miniature sharks.

fished banks on monday in the bowl for bass. Caught lots of perch and walleye on texas rigged lizards and senkos along hwy 155. Troutttrakr: I'am guessing 99.99% they where carp. Trout fishing picks up on banks when its gets cold. Late fall/Winter through early spring is best. You can catch them from shore in the Coulee city marina area. I have got some nice 5 pound plus trout from shore. Lots of folks over look the trout fishing here on banks, but theres some big ones in here for sure.
