Blue Lake did not disappoint us again. Started fishing noon last Friday, 9/26 about 200 yards north of Blue Lake Resort in about 25' using a red wedding ring tipped with a chunk of night crawler and a 1/2 ounce egg sinker. My daughter caught the first trout, about 16". After that we could not keep them off the hook. Caught our limit in about 1 hour. All the trout averaged 14" to 17" and were chunks. Fished again on Saturday after noon and did the same, except she caught about a 3 lb smallie. Great fishing. I don't know why there were not many people on the lake. We go to Blue Lake every fall on the last week-end before closing and always do great. It is a lot warmer this time of year compared to the Spring. We had clear skies and the temp was in the 70's. Thanks for the report. Yup you basically have the whole lake to yourself after the labor day weekend crowd has gone. I fished it last week for perch and did very well.
