Wow!!! Looked for a rating of 10, couldn't find it, so went with the 5! Met Pete at Green Lake about 7:00 AM, fished the shoreline on the east side. Temp at the outset was 56 degrees, water temp a cooling 60 degrees... recent rains have brought the water temp down. Started with fl. orange Power Eggs on both rigs... had worked well for me last week. Started slowly... Pete caught a 10" Rainbow about 8:00, then lost a much bigger one at the shoreline. I experimented with different colors of PEs, shrimp, worms... finally went to spin-casting. Tried a couple of spoons and jig type lures, then tied on a Mepps Aglia #1 with a hot pink blade... BINGO! From 10:30 to 11:30 I caught my limit (now 10 here) and lost a half dozen at the shoreline when they spit the hook. Did catch 3 on the PE, including the smallest of the day, a 9 1/2" Rainbow... two were the more conventional Rainbow of 11", but the rest were all in the 13" to 14" range. It was so much fun to have these fish smack the spinner and cartwheel out of the water... followed by three of four aerial displays before coming to the net. These fish are sleek and feisty, no doubt they are some of the Steelhead planted by the WDFW. A couple more months to add some bulk eating in the lake, and these fish are going to present a challenge to land... that is, if the Cormorants don't get them first. Saw a Cormorant surface with a fish that had to go 16"... was a chore to get it down, but finally did. I love birds, but view the Cormorant as a scourge of the lakes and would gladly see them eradicated!
Pete had a difficult day, the fish were not taking Power Eggs... when he went to worms, he caught a nice 14" Channel Cat. Offered him a Mepps, but he has been having back problems and was afraid the repetitive casting would aggravate the situation. That's alright, another week or so, and the fish will be feeding more normally... lots of fish to be caught.
I had promised the young men at New Heart Place that if the Good Lord provided me with trout this week, they would get them. He did... they will! PTL!

Hard to beat the action, going to try to hit the lake this week, regardless of rain,...if you look at your fish, the adipose fin is gone, so it's safe to say those are the steelhead,...again, nice going, hope Pete gets better also,...

Nice day with awesome catches. I was at the lake as well but didn't have anything close to what you caught. I got there around 12:15 and fished the pier by Evan's pool for an hour. Only saw one trout chased my spinner but but no hookup. Rest are small LMB. This is my 3rd trip out there. First trip was the best. Weather was great (sunny) and I can see school of trout everywhere. But got raining weather on the last two trips and no trout can be seen. Is raining day bad for trout fishing?

N E 1... Good to hear from you, my friend. Yes, I too noticed the trimmed adipose. A tragedy that the WDFW was prohibited from releasing them in the rivers, but a joy to catch in the lakes. hooksetjou... From my experience, sometimes rainy days are the best ever! Good luck to you... persistence will pay off! Many, many fish to be caught at Green Lake this Fall and Winter! PTL!
