This lake was recently stocked so I wanted to try my luck. Especially since they increased the bag limit to 10 fish(till Feb I believe). It was really busy. I think at least 25 to 30 people, mostly cuddled around the edge of the swimming beach near the boat launch. I started to head to the other side of the lake but the people over said they had not had a bite and I noticed the wind was blowing right in. I decided to go back the way I came. I passed all the people fishing to the far side. I was kind of a marshy spot with lots of brush. No one was near me. I set up some power bait and cast out but that did not last long. Then I decided to try worms on a bobber. I did not have much luck on either poll. I started to get a bite on the bobber but missed it, so I began to bring in my line. A fish kept attaching my bobber? It was strange. I let it sit for a min then the fit hit the bait. I brought in my first trout. I caught two more soon after. It started to rain and heavier rain. I realized most of my worms had escaped so I was down to one worm plus little pieces left on my hook. I caught another fish and it just went on from there. The rain let up some and I just pulled the fish in one after another in 2 hours I had my limit. I ended up mixing power worms with the real worms and in the was just using power worms but I had to move those a little to get their attention I helped some other people fishing by showing them my method and sharing power worms. They caught two that way. When I got back to the car Some others leaving congratulated me on the show I put on by pulling in fish after fish. I had been there less time than most of them and got my limit. It was a super fun day. A sat at that. I really want to see what this place is like during the week. great place to fish with the kids due to so much shoreline. Bring a variety of bait / lures though cause you never know what will work.
