Left the house at two and back by four. Total for the day was 3 rainbows, 1 squaw fish and a surprise 24 inch kokanee. The kokanee came on a orange apex and the rainbows on a double whammy walleye spinner that had orange floats with a yellow blade. Tipped both with red gulp crawler. This is the first koke I've heard of being caught in long lake. Makes sense because we catch Chinook occasionally that come down out of Coeur d'Alene.
trolling speed was about 1.25 to 1.5 fishing in 15 to 20 ft of water. Had some other hits but they didn't stick. The lake just keeps suprising this year after a 31.5 lb pike this spring and 2 walleye this fall. Still not picking up any perch trolling which used to happen every fall.

if that kokanee was 24" that is 1 heck of a haul you got! looks like that largest Rainbow must be about 4' long?

The fish in your hands is obviously a rainbow, nice fish but I don't see a Koke there

I agree with Rod. Not a Koke but it is a nice rainbow. Enjoy

Also besides the obvious rainbow marking on the side a kokes tail fin is deeper than a rainbows

I guess what threw me off was the mouth was pure white. Not a trace of black. I'm definitely more of a warm water species guy. Small rainbows are 13 to 14. Went out again Friday with a different friend and another 2 LI.It's of bows and a nice 17 in smallmouth. Trolling the same gear
