10/31/2014 10:02:00 PMShould have mentioned that this bass lake has a lot of Milfoil, be sure to check your trailer and boat as soon as you pull out. The stuff is everywhere. Thnx Buc, for the suggestion.

Headed to my local lake to run the motor, check electronics before heading to my favorite Lake Roosevelt for winter Rainbows. Rigged two poles with plastics figuring I would have a few moments to pitch for some LMB.
Cool day in the mid 50's, moderate breeze from the SE and no-one on the lake except for two pre season duck hunters checking the area in anticipation of the opener the following day.
Launched, fired up and moved out to the deeper portion of the lake and immediately found problems with the Lowrance fish finder. It appeared that all previously setup data had been erased and the unit was in factory default settings. Nothing appeared to be an easy fix ( all set data was in the truck - so quit) and it was getting late in the afternoon so I began pitching a "Strike King Rodent" in Green Pumpkin, and a "Strike King Rage Tail Craw, also Green Pumpkin. In just 12 attempts I landed 3 LMB all three between 12-13 inches, fat and frisky. Headed back to the launch to close out the day. Good time for a short time fishing.
The lake is very weedy, a little low on water, be sure to rig weedless, otherwise your cleaning after every cast. I used a EWG 3/0 Gamakatsu. Great Lake for Ice fishing yellow perch and Crappie. Give it a try.
