The camp ground and boat ramp are open..
The fishing is great! After a couple of warm days ( 80's)
as is the pattern at Merrill, the flying ants were out
and the fish were enjoying them. Big ones... I used a fur-ant
size 10 with hackle tip wings and a white post for tired eyes.
It worked great. Because of the wind, I used the slow sinking slyline
and as the ant begin to sink (in about a minute), I retrieved it
like wet fly. It must have looked like a caddis emerger as it was about as successful wet as dry.
I landed 20 cut-throat from 10-14 inches.
No browns, but still a great day.
