I used to live near green lake, so it was fun to check out the old hood. We hit the 65th dock at about 7:00am-9:30am. We used worms and power bait on a slip weight and bobber, and also tried a Dick Nite. Had a few bites on a big worm that I added just to see if something was down there. I had an unusual bite that ended up being a heron who took my dick nite for a fish. One trout went airborne right in front of me, just to show me who was boss. Only thing we caught was frozen hands and feet. With all the encouraging reports, I really expected better. I made a solid attempt to put my offering near the bottom, and leader length was 2-3'. Not sure what we were doing wrong...?
I could use some assistance from fellow WA Lakers. Much appreciated.

You just had bad luck. The fish swim around the lake all the time. They just weren't buyin what you were sellin. Water is probably too murky for your little dick nite. You need something larger and more obnoxious. Both last time and this time I was there, even a 3/8ths castmaster wasn't large and obnoxious enough. Not even a nibble. I'll post a report and a pic showing what caught my 3 tonight, and if you look through greenlake reports you can see my last report showing basically the same thing, just different color. Water is just too murky, even on a sunny day, although the guy next to me said he caught a couple (but was there all day) on a silver and pink spinner the size of a castmaster. Dunno how many hours he used it. But the other guys were using powerbait on the bottom with success even this afternoon. Long story short, go big and obnoxious, and/or put in more than 2 hours!

You can catch your limit EASY in 2 hours if you're in the right spot w/the right gear. I'm going in the morning - hit me up.
