There needed to be another star added for today. It was fish-on from the very first light and it never stopped. I was being selective about the fish I was keeping so I didn't use any power bait (so they don't swallow the hook all the way down). I threw a bunch back that were darker or too small. Kept the brightest & biggest except 2 that caught the hook in the gills - they were still pretty good, but not firm & orange like the bigger steelie smolts.
Everything was working. I popped the cherry on my brand new Okuma SST 5'5" trout pole with a bronze kastmaster on my 4th or 5th cast! :) I caught most on a size 1 kokanee Dick Nite, but also caught on a vibrax & an orange rooster tail. Between my & my buddy Tim, we had 11 fish kept (over 30 hooked & caught) in a little less than 2 hours.
I got to meet the hook, worm & bobber king w/his family. As soon as they started, it was a feeding frenzy and everything we threw out there, they were nailing on almost every cast. (note to self... chum the water with worm guts!!)
It was a great day fishing but I had to bail early for the ski trade show. Sorry no pics of the fish!
