Hit Sprague Lake at 7:00 Am and the lake was a sheet of glass. NO WIND at all. We put out 2 leaded lines with perch colored flies tipped w/worms and then ran out 2 long lines at 225'. Caught the first two and they were the new steelhead plants. All the adipose fins on the steelhead have been removed. They are getting to be 15" to 16" fish. It was slow and we did catch one hold over that was 20-1/2" and 2-1/2 lbs. I started throwing everything I had in the tackle box and then I hit the right fly. I had 2 red/white frisky jenny's in the box and stuck one on a leaded line pole and Bam, fish on in less than a minute. Boated another steely and put it back out and Bam, another fish. Gail brought this on in so I switched out the other leaded line with the other fly and Bam, that pole went down and the line was zinging off like mad. I picked it up and felt a lot of weight on the end. Turned out to be the biggest fish of the day @ 22" and over 3 lbs. Caught the last fish @ 1:30 and headed to the ramp. What a great day and Gail has some great pics of the lake and the reflections from the sky/lake that day.
Hope to see you on the water. Landshark out.
