We were fishing mainly for kokes which we were able to be quite sucessfull that day. Had a bunch to the boat. Ended up catching a nice tripiloid also that was a great bonus. Great day to be on the water.

Nice! You've got a winter package on your boat that would work well on Roosevelt. :-)

Thanks Phil. I think we can stay warm enough. We plan on having a Mr. Heater inside to warm that area and a smaller hand heater outside near where the guy hits to run the tiller. And we will be trading off if the guy at the tiller gets too cold. Anyway we are looking forward to getting over there. It looks like in January sometime. Surguries, schedules, ect make it hard to set a date. We're hoping things will quiet down after Christmas. Mainly have to wait for decent weather, especially on the Snoquamile and Bluett passes.

Hi. Yes it was a wonderful day. Merrill is such a fun lake to fish no matter what you catch.Thank you for the compliment on the boat. Normally I launch from the Speeleeye ? launch, but the fish get scattered all over the lake real quickly. When they planted the rainbows this summer and last, they all seemed to head down to the dam end, but as the year progressed they moved back up towards the east end somewhat. You never know where you're going to find good fishing. It just takes some experimenting. And you never know what you might have on the end of your line. I had a few rainbows on when I was kokanee fishing that broke 12.9 pound leader right at the boat when they would try to get away. For some reason each time I have a strike, it's like the first fish I ever caught in a little creek back in 1952 when dad took me cat fishing. I still get excited.
