Fished the potholes yesterday. Second time we have tried to fish walleye on the lake this winter. The first time was more difficult than anticipated. We ended up catching 2 keeper walleye and about 8 little ones. We did catch about 20 perch which helped pass the time. This time was a lot different however. We decided to switch up the game plan and it definitely worked. The two of us jigged from 8:30 to 4:30. We ended up catching 19 keeper walleye with one going over 8lbs (released of course). We also caught about 15-10 little walleye and about 20 nice sized perch in which we Only kept a couple that came up too fast. We ended up getting our two limits of nice eater fish that ranged between 16-22 inches. Once we figured out what the fish wanted..the fishing was off the chart! Definitely a spot to take away the winter fishing blues!

And planning a trip over to potholes the first week in March. Will probably stay at the state park and launch from there, heading over to Crabcreek, the front of the dunes, and the face the dam. Will probably throw a little bit of everything out them-see what comes.
Thanks for your thoughts.
