Having found bigger fish a little further up the lake on day one, on this day we went for a boat ride.
We passed the 10-15 boats fishing Hollywood beach and kept going for a few more miles up the lake. Meeting up with Frank of Franks Fly Box we exchanged some lures and Intel and got to work. We worked our gear over 800-1100 feet of water! This is the furthest I have ever been up the lake but it paid off. We quickly had a double then averaged a take down every 10-15 minutes with a few doubles and even a triple. Caught another little King that was released to get bigger. We ended the day going 23 for 30+, having lost a few fish on my "Centerpin" Kokanee rod. Its very hard to catch up when they tear it off the clip. All fish were caught at over 90' deep so even the "Little" (12-13") guys got kept today. The wind had us tucking tail and heading for the ramp at around 11:30.
Squids and Flys in Orange and Pink were the ticket again. Pulled behind Macks Double D's and UV dodgers. Baited with Corn soaked in my secret blend of 51 herbs and spices. We caught fish from 80-140' on the wire and at speed between 1.1-1.8. The bigger fish wanted it faster. Our biggest Koke of the day was 16 3/4 long and we had 7 fish over 16 inches. In February. Holy Smokes.
I will be running a few trips starting next month. As always Wa Lakes members get a special price. Come experience some of this awesome fishing!
