At around noon, We were fishing the south side of 520 with a fly. Trolling at 2 mph and 70' down, my Dad and I watched his rod and reel start singing as it released from the downrigger. We probably should have let the fish run for a minute before picking up the rod. Unfortunately, after picking up the rod and trying to reel him in, the fish was off within half a minute. My dad thought he may have set the drag a little too tight even though he didn't reel in much line until the fish shook loose. I will say it was worth the excitement. In 20 years of fishing this lake, this was a first. It seems so hard to get a big one to strike. The fish had to be 7 - 12 lbs.
I was fishing with a worm and had several chewed off but nothing big enough to hook up I suppose.
