Drove out to Beaver Lake after work on a recommendation from the guys at ICC and set the boat up. Zero luck trolling a Wedding Ring (THIS IS PAINS ME TO SAY IT), so I just sight casted with spinners for a while. Caught a few small fish; they will school up and rise for a few minuets in one spot and then scatter. Sneak over to them and start casting small spinners tipped with a little plastic worm. If I could get there in time it was usually successful. Went again the following day and used one plastic egg with a small plastic worm and some WD-40 on a water bobber and it worked great. I don't like the idea of putting that stuff in the water but it only takes a little spritz to do the trick. The fish have favorite hangouts that you can spy easily from shore, just watch for concentrated rises. Even if you spook them just give it half an hour and they come right back. Next time I will try trolling an Olive Woolly Bugger maybe #8-10 or so. Seems like small baits do the trick. Tight lines!
