Having got a limit yesterday, I was able to convince the wife to join me for a day of fishing. We are entering the Something Catchy Derby in Lake Chelan next weekend and she decided that she could use a little "warm up". We got a later start than I had wanted, but again, we were into the fish right off the bat. Got the lines rigged and set at 10' and were into the fish almost from the moment we got there. We had three fish in the box in quick order, but after that the bite kind of died. With the slight lull, I started switching lures, dodgers and scents. We started with unscented corn, but Pro Cure Kokanee scent seemed to turn the bite back on again. As soon as we switched scents, the bite returned with a fury. It took a little longer than I had wanted to get our limit, but we were able to get it done.
The combo of the day was a chrome herring dodger with a "Koke-Hawk" wedding ring (Blue, Green and Silver) with a real silver blade and some flash tied onto size 2 drop shot hooks. Same as yesterday, all the fish were on the small side with all fish being in that 11" range, but that seems to be the trend at Meridian. We can't wait for those big boys at Chelan next week!
