I put in at the State park at 06:30. It was calm and crisp! I started just below the Yatch Club. Within 5 min I had the first fish half way to the boat from 120'! Half way was the way the rest of the day seemed to go. My fish finder decided to take the day off. After an hour spent in that area I moved to Mitchell Creek. I dropped in and again within 5 min. hooked up at 120'! Although, this was a nice fat 14'' Kokanee! I continued another 3 hours in this area. I boated 2 Rainbows from 50 and 65' on the wire. 12'' and 14'' respectively. I pulled another Koke from 125'. It was a twin to the first one. I ran multiple set ups at various depths. Pink and orange hootchies were the winners behind 6'' Sling blades. The cold breeze started to come down lake from the snow capped mountains around noon. I had to put layers back on that I had shed earlier. I could have stayed longer but, decided to pull the plug as that strom was coming.
Thanks to Steelheadin360 for his report of catching without seeing them on the screen. It kept me out there to at least get a few.
I look forward to putting some names on faces on May 3rd!
