Fished from 9:30am till about 12:30 when the wind made it to difficult to troll. Fish caught in 5-12 ft off the downrigger in 60-70 ft of water. Fished straight out from launch in the middle of the lake and headed north and just repeated. Boated 12 fish. The kids caught and netted most of them. Lost 10 plus but was well worth watching my kids excitement reeling and netting all on their own. Used kokabow spinners and dicknite dodgers with corn and gulp maggots and dipping sauce.

Nice job!! I absolutely love like Samish. Do they still have the motor check in station for invasive species? Do you have to buy a pass for that?

They have the invasive species policy I've never seen anybody checking boats. They say they do.
I just went online and purchased a permit and printed the receipt I figured better safe then sorry.
The cost is $50.00 for a registered boat and $10.00 for non registered/non motorized permit. It's an annual pass.

Nice job! Just ended my steelhead season yesterday. I live right near Samish and might go give it a try here soon! Question for you, the samish fish vary is size yearly. 2 years ago big fish. Last year they were tiny. Barely worth fishing. How long were these fish you caught? They look pretty healthy. Hoping they are good size this year!

They do inspect boats at the WDFW launch on Samish (at least on weekends), just not during the winter. My understanding is that inspections are to resume with the statewide opener next weekend. Nice haul! We launched up there at 12:30 yesterday and didn't stay long due to the wind.
