Decided to take a break from moving and load up the car and hit my go to lake. Arrived around 7am and was on the water by 7:15. I fished alongside Machewbacca and ran into a few other Wa Lake members.

As for fishing, it was a red hot bite for rainbows. They were all over the lake and at every depth. For the first time in my life I was annoyed from catching so many. Hours went by without a single kokanee. I tried all my combos. THEN, Machewbacca and I headed towards the boat launch in front of the dock and finally found enormous schools of Kokes. That's where I landed my limit within the hour of switching locations. 20 feet on the wire using my orange wedding ring and clown dick Nite dodger. Tipped both hooks with corn and added krill scent to the blade. I love when I have to work hard for these fish. It makes catching them that much more fun.

TIGHT LINES YALL!!

Yepp. The bows were out in force today. Between my 3 boys and I we managed a limit of planters and only 1 koke lost at the boat. Red sling blade, modified wedding ring fronted with 5 beads and silver smile blade at 9 inches was the ticket. Will try your setup next time. Thanks for the report!

Thanks for the mention DJ, was a pleasure cruising the lake and watching you work. I'm a noob to the sport and I know you've mentioned you're relatively new as well, but man... you can flat out catch fish. I appreciate the discipline, technique, and persistence in your fishing game, hope to add some of that to mine. Switching the fishfinder to 83mhz was huge for me... easier to identify the fish.

Well I see it's back to the swing of things. I gotta ask , how do ya figure which set up is going to be the one for the day ? darn last time I was out
I was about to start dragging the net . ha ha . Say maybe ya should post a sign lake side " Dj's for sure catch um set ups " Just kidding ,
The area that to seems to produce the kokanee , even last year at the end of the season is the same as what you reported . I remember catching some larger fish as well there. Good job as always Dj . It's time to start bringing the kids out for a fun day at the lake with the strong bite
of the Bows easy pickins it sounds like. Still got a bunch of stuff to try , maybe one of these times we'll hit the lake at the same time ?

@machewbacca - you totally get credit for finding those fish. I would have never guessed to switch my finder. Thanks again brotha. Your starting to get the hang of this fishery as well. I really enjoy hittin the water with you man.

@greenboater - the kids will have a blast catching the trout. They are hungry. I literally have 3 set ups that I use regularly on meridian. One for rainy days, one for cloudy days and one for sunny days. Sometimes I mix and match but I try not to get to fancy with it. I'll shoit you an email with those set ups and show you the different combos.
