Me and a friend headed to Waughop around 4:30 to try our luck at the big bass we've heard about. I actually had no idea this lake produced any quality fish before I noticed some of the reports on this site. On my second or third cast on one of the fallen trees, I hooked into a nice little fish that probably sat between two and three pounds. I caught the little fella on a 1/8 oz. finesse jig with a Jackall "dart hog" trailer. I have a few more hits on that jig before I ended up losing it to a submerged (HUGE!) tree bass. A few fish struck at some crawfish patterns, but the only one who was hooked was the first. We stuck around a few hours fishing other large branches and the pads, but no luck there.

If other obligations don't get in the way, I would like to try hitting this lake again early Saturday morning. It seems most of the big ones have been caught early in the day.
