Well here we go! The long awaited weekend was approaching and was looking forward to a fun time of fishing and fellowship with fellow 'koke addicts"! Didn't get started on a good note as I was driving over Snoqualmie pass just as we climbing the grade heard a loud pop and thought it was my truck backfiring- but soon a passerby pointed for me to pull over as I had blown a trailer tire on the boat! Yikes!

Got out to inspect it and there was nothing left but a little rubber and rim so took a page from the "Christmas Story" and yelled to my wife "time me!" In less then 15 minutes we were pulling back out on the road to head over to Wenatchee to drop her off with her ailing mother in the nursing home there. She wished me luck and off I went to the lake!

Got to the launch around 5:30 am at Mill Bay and ran into Kokanee Kid, Kokanee slayer and Mav186~ after a little brainstorming and trading numbers on our phones we headed out to try our 'luck'! Mav186( Steve) and I stayed pretty much in the same area from Rocky point across to the houses on the other side. After playing around with different set ups and depths found some willing biters at about 55 feet- 1st one at around 12" so at least the skunk was off the Tin Cup! Second one was a piggy and kept coming out of the water 75 feet behind to boat so had to take it out of gear and work it slowly into the net but realized my trailer red treble Gami hook was buried pretty good plus my leading wide gap finesse hook had come completely out through it's eye socket and back into it's head so this baby was not coming off. Nice fat fish at about 17" and ended up at about 11:30 with 3 before needed to head in to get to Les Schwabb to replace my tire so I would have a spare on board!

Ran into Alan ( dowriggal) and Brian ( fish dawg) at Safeway in Chelan while waiting for my tire to get repaired so they told me about the launch up at the state park, so after getting my new tire took a driver up there. Ran into Lance from Mac lures and friend and we chatted for a bit before dusk so made my game plan for Saturday- report to follow!!

See you on the water!

From the looks of that tire Barry, you don't do anything half way! Glad it didn't make it down to the wheel. It was great to see you and chat.
