Went to Liberty for a late afternoon/evening round of fishing. I have never really done very well on this body of water but have been reading some good reports on this lake. Got on the water about 2:00PM and started on the South end and worked the West end with no luck. Headed to the Marina/apartment area which always looks like it should hold fish, but have yet to land one in that area. Throwing cranks, chatterbaits and plastic worms to no avail. Around 5:30 headed to the East end for some dock action. Finally landed a 4-1/4 pound LMB on a 4" Senko. Boy, my hook set was terrible and was lucky to land the fish. No more action on that side so cruised to the West side in the flats and a friend landed a 3 pound LMB on an 8" zoom, and we caught a couple of dinks. All fish were caught between 8 - 10 feet of water. Liberty is still not my favorite body of water, but I finally got a nice fish.
