The local Lutheran Church sponsors a Welcome Home Vets program. They were nice enough to send some of those veterans out for a morning of fishing with me. Jeffrey and Patricia Graham of Malaga as well as Sean and Jenny Miller of Quincy made up up my crew for the morning. We started out in a cool drizzle, but ended the morning in nice sunshine and mild temperatures. We pounded Colyar Ledge the whole time. With flat water and great conversation we caught some fish and lost some fish. Dry spells interspersed with multiple hook ups (Doubles, a triple and even a quad hook up) made up our morning. What a great program to show our Veterans our appreciation.

Depths of 220 to 340 feet were most productive. We trolled "Jeff's Drift Rigs" tight to the bottom at 1.2 mph. While most fish were loaded with Mysis Shrimp, one fish had 4 crayfish in it as well as a 5" young of the year laker.
