Fished Lake Cassidy this am 6:30am to 1:00pm. It wasn't dead calm like last Saturday morning when I arrived at the lake also was overcast and about 58F. Went left from boat launch and tried inside the lily pads with top water rappala in perch and black buzzbait. I got my buzzbait hung up by first dock and had to go in to untangle it. I tried some top water perch casts and didn't get any bites...since I was close to shore tossed the buzz bait and bam landed a nice 10" bass which hit about 2 feet in front of me so had to play him with no line out. Good start to the day....saw a few fish jumping out in front of pads and had one roll behind my top water minnow and had him on for about 2 seconds...didn't see him but felt bigger (they always do...the one's that get away)....it was very slow for next few hours and didn't have many hits, bumps or swirls. What a difference a week makes and 20 degrees! I was nailing them last Saturday with lots of action. I kept at it and went to East side of the lake and worked the pads in front and behind...did see a few surface out from the pads but couldn't get them to hit. Had only about 4 hits on that side and made it to the Centennial trail dock heading south....I kept at it and got a good hit where I lost one on Saturday and bam fish on 12.5" bass. Next I got another few hits and rolls looked like a crappie hit and sure enough landed one on the top water perch a big 7". I kept getting some hits on top water minnow close to shore but nothing that would take it. I made it to the corner and tried the pads...no luck...wind was blowing south and I cast in front of pads and moved it too soon had a big roll behind it and spooked the fish....I tried a few more casts then tried in between two sets of pads and on 2nd twitch big fish on!!! After a great fight and several hard pulls straight down....up came an 8lber! Well, after the 7" Crappie he looked like he was that big...15" by 4" wide and about 2-3" belly...my guess is 2-3lbs. Closer to 3lbs as he was fat.

All fish catch n released...slow day only caught 4 three bass 15", 12.5", and 10" and one crappie 7" only had about 10-12 hits. Water temp seemed cooler then last week.

Nice report James - I like the detail. How about a few more photos on the next report. They don't have to be fish - may the access area or some shoreline shots or anything else you find interesting.
