So wanted to get out and do another day of fishing with my son. His friend came over to spend a few days and so my son got him a licence online with his own money! I was proud. We wanted to take him out fish catching so we heading back to Summit after yesterday we new we could have him catch some fish and have a ton of fun doing it.

Got to the lake around 1 pm and starting fishing, my son and I were on the dr in hopes of some kokanee. His friend was on top long lining. After two minutes my top rod goes off and I hand him the pole knowing its a RB. He reels it in and he was excited. Keep in mind these boys are just over 18 years old but never the less they were having a blast. We only lost a few at the boat all RB. It really died off around 4:30 or so, We had three fish to make a full limit. I say lets put a worm on the hook and get this trip wrapped up. A few minutes later and we had two more fish in the boat.
I got the last fish 45 min later worth the wait as it was a nice 12" koke.

All fish were caught using a Wannafish a lure Pink Squiddy thing, and a mini cha cha purple hootchie. Trust me we tried every color under the sun on wedding rings and hootches with no luck. Only the pink squddy thing and a Purple were the colors that got the fish for us. All the fish caught were in the top 20 ft of water no matter the depth.

That is quite a wide color spectrum on the meat. Is that due to recent plant VS carry overs? Anyhow, good job Dad! Thanks for the report.

def,. holdovers with red meat, that's why we fish single hooks, no bait or scent, just too many pesky small fish! We don't even want the kokes, holdover trout are better eating in our opinion. But a 12 inch koke is a great fish for Summit lake, our only koke was about 8 inches.Nice report, glad the boys had fun. bob r

I was not sure why the color spectrum was so far out of wack? Now I know, thanks Bob. Yes we just put out our lines without anything as well but on my pole I ran scent and corn on one of them. We knew from the day before the RB would bite anything in the water and its always fun for kids to reel them in but when the action gets slow, pull out the worms and watch them work there magic. I was surprised to pull a 12" as well he will eat good. Two of the kokes were female, small footballs, they are tasty little devils.
