I had never been to stevens. Chuck invited me to join he and three others on a guides boat. the service is nastychum. we had nine rods out. using dodgers, and spinners, all different types and colors. two rods on downriggers. two longlines. and the rest on just leaded line. we fished from 530 till 1030. we ended up with 41 kokanee. rangeing from ten to 13". it was a great experience. we had a few triples on.fish seem small everywhere this year.

Nice job on the catch! What depth was most sucsessfull? And what color was your biggest producer? I'm taking a friend out for his first time Koke fishing, and honestly I haven't quite dialed in the tecnique. Any tips would be great. Fish on!

we had nine rods fishing a ounce. lol. only two were on the downrigger, at 30'. most of the rest were running leaded line, three colors out. two were not on top of the water. the leaded line rods saw most of the action, but, all got fish. each rod, had a differernet dodger, and also a different small spinner. so. no favorites witih fish., the fish simply bit what came their way. was my first time on this lake. i plan to bring my boat out. the fish ranged in size. but, a ten fish limit. the fishing would have been better, but we had a low presssure situation, as far as the weather goes. wdfw said our boat was the hot one. of course it was. we had nine lines out. lol. in a couple months, these fish will probably put on a couple inches. id like to return, in, say mid september.

My wife and I went out today and got our lines in at 7 AM. Really a slow day, so we spent 8 hours fishing and caught 19, but couldn't get the last one. We fished 3-4 hours longer than we usually do; just for the hell of it. Most caught at 15' and a few at 20'. Started off with green wedding rings and then later switched to pink. We only had 2 lines in the water.

It looks like corn is a hot bait but who knows why with fish! Do you just put on kernel on a small hook? Can you recommend an artificial bait, spoon or spinner that is fairly successful. Thanks so much.

white shoepeg corn is a kokes favorite. maggots do ok. do not try yellow corn. its useless. berkley power maggots are used by many. i dont use em. i put a squirt of shimp oil, and several drops of anise in the corn, the night before. use two kernels. hook em thru the big end. hooks are important. too small, and you will lose lots of fish. i run double hooks. a #2 drop shot hook, followed closely by a #4 red gammi, is a good setup. often, the kokes will go for the bare red trailler hook. i use a hook, called a kahle. looks somwhat like a scud hook. made by eagle claw. i dont know of anyone else who uses these, at least not in the koke circles. i beleive it to be the better mouse trap.
